Abstract

This work aims at analysing, in the light of new insights from economic development theories, the microeconomic relationship between social capital and economic wealth. In this preliminary study, we conduct a quantitative analysis through the use of structural equation modelling, to investigate a multidisciplinary framework across social and cognitive sciences. Results suggest the existence of a causal path linking wealth, institutional trust,
social engagement and trust towards people.
